Hello, hi, how r u?
I hope you're well. I’ve had a busy few weeks with work, and with Common People - and this weekend I’ve got the Copenhagen marathon too, so been prepping for that. However, I’ve not too busy to find thirty beautiful songs and a bunch of interesting stuff for you.
Now, over the last few letters I think I’ve shown you my harder musical side. There’s been coarse textures and rapid tempos, so today, I’m giving you something a little softer, a little slower, and a little more replenishing.
Disco. Lots of it.
But with a little twist in the middle. See, I remember reading this great story about a party at the Loft where someone spiked the punch bowl with acid (hardly an isolated incident, I’m sure) and everyone hearing disco playing but it sounding more psychedelic. That paragraph has been lodged at the back of my mind ever since, and so in this week’s mixtape, it’s come out in a musical form - this week’s music is disco drenched in acid. It starts with some beautiful, soulful music, builds to a peak, and then releases a few acid-tinged disco numbers.
You’re going to bloody love it.
Right, with that, I’ll see you on the dance floor,
Jed x
PS. If you're new here then this is how it works. Here’s what you’ve missed so far.
